We say goodbye and we say hello

It was a bittersweet time at the regular June meeting of the Board of Directors. As happens every year at this time, we necessarily must say goodbye to directors who have served their term. Congratulations to our 2016 Choral Advocacy Award winners!

We are thrilled to introduce our 2016 Choral Advocacy Award winners Pat and Amaria O'Leary. If you have attended a CAE concert the past few years, you have seen Amaria and Pat at work coordinating ushers and other concert helpers and making sure your concert experience is as seamless as possible. It's a family affair that often includes their two daughters as well. The O'Learys are not only indefagitable Choral Arts Ensemble volunteers - Amaria also serves on our Board of Directors - but they spend countless hours attending, supporting, and volunteering for other arts organizations in the region. A Happy Season Ending

We had a great time at our Diverse Voices concert and we hope you did too if you were able to attend Saturday. If you missed the concert, you missed dancing students and an erhu-playing principal from the Rochester Chinese School, an intergenerational chorus of Chinese singers teaching the audience "Two Tigers" (a Chinese version of our more familiar "Are You Sleeping?"), some high-spirited call-and-response gospel singing with the Armor of God Gospel choir, a survey of 50 years of popular and very catchy Indian music provided by the Jai Ho group of Rochester Vidhyalaya, stirring poetry from STEM academy students, well-coached by their English teacher Mr. Edwards, poems about struggle, unit
