Composer Timothy C. Takach, of Minneapolis, was chosen from a field of over 70 entrants to compose a work for Choral Arts Ensemble’s 2010-2011 season. From the initial call for scores, three finalists had compositions selected to be studied by the ensemble in an anonymous reading session on October 24. Besides Mr. Takach, the finalists were Zachary Wadsworth and Edward Zeliff. After reading, analyzing and singing through the submitted compositions, the choir ranked the composers, and from those rankings the winner was selected.
