Artaria String Quartet
‘The Seven Last Words of Christ’
by Joseph Haydn

The Meditation and Memorial concert is offered each year as a time of contemplation and commemoration. “The Seven Last Words of Christ” will be presented by the Artaria String Quartet. Joseph Haydn, a devout Catholic, composed the piece in seven movements, or meditations — based on Jesus Christ’s last words on the cross. The first performance was on Good Friday in 1787. The group includes Ray Shows, violin; Nancy Oliveros, violin; Annalee Wolf, viola; and Laura Sewell, cello. The group is based in St. Paul.

This concert will be held at 7:30 pm in the Saint Marys Hospital Chapel, 1st floor, Domitilla Building and will be broadcast live on Mayo Clinic’s Patient/Visitor channel 10.
