DO come to our Silver Jubilee Concert

Please join us for our season finale concert on May 8 at 8:00 pm in Lourdes Chapel at Assisi Heights. In true Choral Arts Ensemble style, the program will run the range from Renaissance motets by Josquin desPrez and Tomas Luis de Victoria to 21st century new works by Jocelyn Hagen and Ysaye Barnwell with lots of wonderful music in between by Anton Bruckner, Benjamin Britten, Alice Parker, Joseph Flummerfelt and others. A highlight will be the premiere of our third commission of the season: Radiance by Ola Gjeilo. This young Norwegian composer will be with us at the concert, joining Michael Culloton for the pre-concert talk at 7:30 and maybe even showing up on stage again later in the evening.

After the concert, stay for the celebratory anniversary reception to meet Mr. Gjeilo, as well as the singers of CAE, Artistic Director Michael Culloton, CAE founder Rick Kvam, and your fellow choral music aficionados.

You can purchase tickets online or by calling the office at 507-252-8427.

REgister for the Community Sing: Mozart's Requiem
Registration for our 2010 Community Sing is open for anyone grade 10 and older! We have music and learning cds ready and waiting now at our office, so feel free to pick up a score once you've signed up. We'll be singing Mozart's Requiem with a full orchestra, and we hope once again to have around 200 singers! We'll be gathering in Lourdes Chapel at Assisi Heights on Tuesday, July 13, warming up at 6:00 and performing at 8:00. If you don't come to sing, you can still come to hear and enjoy. Participation fee is $10; tickets to the performance are $10 (adult) and $5 (student). Check the website for the form and information.

MI-MI-MI...Warm up for auditions

Auditions for Choral Arts Ensemble are being scheduled right now. They are being held by appointment from May 17 through June 1. Most times are over the lunch hour with some evening slots as well.

We are also very excited to announce July auditions for the Choral Arts Symphonic Chorus which will participate in the October 2010 presentation of Mass in C by Beethoven. Click here for details about both auditions.
