Choral Landscapes May 14-15
As we prepare for our Choral Landscapes concert, the choir is looking forward in the next few weeks to welcoming our various concert guests to rehearsal: Michael Bostwick and his clarinet for the to-be-premiered Mack Wilberg piece, Then We'll Sing Hosanna, guitarist Jeffrey Van for some close work on both the Romancero Gitano (Gypsy Ballad Book) and his own A Procession Winding Around Me, and the Zumbro Lutheran Choir, under the direction of Bob Giere, which will be joining us on Then We'll Sing Hosanna and a second Wilberg piece, Let Peace Then Still the Strife. It is great fun for the choir to work with other musicians, and it is our hope and intention that the concert is enriched for the audience as well by these interactions and collaborations.
More information about the concert and the online ticket link can be found on the website. You can also buy tickets by calling Choral Arts Ensemble at 252-8427.

Be Counted in the MN Arts Count
As a friend of our organization, you likely engage in creative expression yourself and need to be counted in MN Arts Count. Do you professionally or personally, sing, act, dance, write, draw, paint, sculpt, photograph, film, knit, weave, direct, play an instrument, compose, share stories, design, or engage in any other form of creative expression? To help ensure future arts grants represent the full spectrum of creative expression in the state, the Minnesota State Arts Board and Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council are currently conducting MN Arts Count, a statewide census to determine how many Minnesota individuals and businesses or organizations are involved in arts and creative expression, and how broad and diverse their interests are.
The census is open until April 30, 2011, and can be accessed at www.MNArtsCount.com. Paper surveys for individuals can be requested by calling 800-748-3222 ext. 225. You can also get ongoing updates on MN Arts Count through Facebook and Twitter. The survey is available in English, Spanish, Somali and Hmong.
