of time and season

October 13th, 2007– 7:30 pm
Pre-concert lecture - 7:00 pm
Church of St. John the Evangelist, Rochester

Join the Choral Arts Ensemble for an eclectic evening featuring music of time and season from the scenic vistas of Italy, Canada, Germany, England, and the United States. You’ll hear a wide range of music including madrigals of springtime, music of the night by the quintessential romantic Johannes Brahms, a new work by Eric William Barnum, There was a Time (commissioned by CAE specifically for this program), several movements from a recent work, The Canonical Hours, by Rochester-born composer John White, as well as works by Stephen Paulus and William Hawley. All the traveling you’ll do throughout the program will leave you in need of a reception at intermission, and we are more than happy to oblige as we celebrate the commencement of our 2007-2008 season with this delectable opening concert!
